Sh. R.K. Celly, ED, BMTPC and Member Convener submitted revised vesion of “The Vulnerability Atlas of India - 2006” to the Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation. The Atlas is prepared on the recommendations of Expert Group constituted by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation under Chairmanship of Dr. A.S. Arya, National Seismic Advisor, GOI. The Member Co- Convener of the Expert Group is Shri J.K. Prasad Chief Building Materials.



BMTPC Joins IPIRTI -Indian Plywood Industries Research and Training Institute in sponsoring and organising workshop on “RURAL DEVELOPMENT THROUGH INTEGRATION OF AGRO-FORESTRY AND WOOD-BASED INDUSTRIES” on 11th and 12th October 2006 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.



World Habitat Day 2nd October 2006.



Awards were distributed by Kumari Selja Hon’ble Minister of State (I/c) for Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, Government of India to the winners of the BMTPC Painting Competition on the occasion of  World Habitat Day - 2006 celebrated in Vigyan Bhawan on 3rd October 2006 , for differently abled children. Themes of the painting competition were “My Dream Home” and “Protection of Environment in Cities”. Awards for three best entries for each theme were given to mentally challenged children. And awards for other three best entries were given to visually challenged children.



Consloation prizes and Certificates were subsequently given by Shri R.K. Celly, ED –BMTPC.



On this occasion following important publications were released by the Hon’ble Minister



1. Seventh edition, 2006  of “Directory of Indian Building Materials and Products with information on Bhutan and Nepal” both in print edition as well as in CD-ROM version.

2. BMTPC’s newsletter “Building Material News” on the theme “CTIES - MAGNETS OF HOPE” 





ED- BMTPC and Senior Officers visit to Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura & Mizoram and reviewd BMTPC Projects in North Eastern State.









BMTPC and IIT- Roorkee concluded a five day Training Programe on Earthquake Engineering and certificate awarded to 39 delegates.









BMTPC is conducting a two day workshop on Team Building at India International Centre on 9th and 10th November, 2006. Seat allocation would be on first come frst serve basis.

Develop and operationalise a comprehensive and integrated approach for technology development, transfer and investment promotion to encourage  application of environment-friendly & energy-efficient innovative materials, manufacturing technologies and construction practices for housing and buildings in urban and rural areas.
